How to Create More Time for You

time

Would you like more time in life for you, but find your time being spent and wasted on other things?
Well I’ve discovered a way to have a lot more time and it’s simple.

In the past I used to break my time down into parts. One part was for my 3 year old daughter, other parts were for my older children, another part was for supporting my wife, doing my share of the childcare and household chores. Any time left over I considered “my own time” to walk, read, play and anything else I wanted to do for me.

Since developing natural mindfulness I try not to divide my time up anymore. Instead I consider my time with the family and doing chores as “my own time” too. When I’m getting my 3 year old daughter ready for playschool, I try to find ways of seeing her time as my own time. I wash her, prepare her breakfast, dress her, brush her hair and pack/prepare her things with her. Sharing her presence and finding ways to be interested and enjoy what we do during this time. The time for her becomes my own time.

I try to do the same with household chores/tasks. While washing up rather than rush through the process thinking about what I can’t do, or thinking about what I will do next, I only wash the dishes. I try and become completely aware of washing the dishes. I make it a “wondrous reality” and become absorbed into the present moment, being completely myself, conscious of my thoughts and actions.

When I manage to achieve this state all time becomes my time and the remarkable thing is that I have unlimited time for myself!
